artichoke

A gardener reports that an artichoke in their Schrebergarten allotment has flowered in full bloom for the first time, having grown well this year. The post, shared with German allotment and gardening hashtags, is a small seasonal milestone rather than news, but it is drawing modest attention from the home and garden community, where artichokes are considered a demanding crop in the German climate.

Photography of artichokes tagged to Melbourne's food scene is being shared and appreciated by food lovers. The produce shots highlight the vegetable's striking look, a favourite subject of food photographers, and add to Melbourne's reputation as a city passionate about fresh ingredients and market produce.
