A large-scale RNA-binding protein tethering screen has identified new modulators of circular RNA metabolism, according to a study published in Nature. The approach systematically tethers hundreds of RNA-binding proteins to a target transcript to test how each affects circular RNA formation and turnover. The findings give researchers a map of proteins that regulate circular RNAs, molecules increasingly implicated in gene regulation and disease.
