colugos

Gliding mammals such as flying squirrels and colugos evolved the ability to glide independently, and new research reported by science outlets indicates they reached this same skill through different genetic pathways. The findings highlight convergent evolution at the molecular level, showing that similar traits can arise from distinct genetic changes in separate lineages.
