electrosmog

Migratory animals, including migratory birds and soprano pipistrelle bats, orient themselves using Earth's magnetic field. Earlier research showed the bats recalibrate their magnetic compass at sunset using the position of the setting sun. New discussion now links electrosmog — human-made electromagnetic radiation — to potential interference with these navigation systems, raising concerns about how man-made signals affect wildlife orientation.
