A gardener in Minnesota reports moving a potted lemon tree indoors for the winter, with the fruit beginning to ripen. The harvest totals five medium-sized lemons, described as a record crop for the plant. The lighthearted update about a modest home harvest is drawing warm, amused reactions from fellow houseplant and gardening enthusiasts.

Gardeners are being shown how to grow citrus trees in containers, a method that lets people in cooler climates enjoy lemons, limes and oranges on patios and indoors. The segment walks through container choice, soil, watering and moving plants inside during cold weather.
