orange cats

A social media user shared a photograph of an orange cat, jokingly presenting it as a politician — a 'fiercely independent libertarian'. The post plays on the popular internet trope that ginger cats have bold, stubborn personalities, using the language of politics humorously rather than to make a serious point about any real politician or party.

A photographer posted a picture of an orange cat lounging in a neighborhood social club, describing it as cozy but smelling of leftovers. The photo, shared under street photography and cat-themed hashtags, earned an early third-place nod in an online art show tag and is drawing warm, lighthearted reactions from animal lovers.

A 1906 illustration by Henry Justice Ford, 'Defeat of the Mountain-Spirit by the Youth and Schippeitaro', is being shared by art lovers online. The image likely comes from Andrew Lang's 'Orange Fairy Book' and depicts the Japanese folk tale in which a young man and the dog Schippeitaro defeat a mountain spirit. Sharers link it to the weekend 'Caturday' tradition of posting pictures of dogs and cats.

A cyclist or motorist has completed a test drive after repairing a brake, reporting that it now works nicely. Writing about the experience, they noted that a white and orange cat ran across the road during the ride, following an earlier encounter with a deer and her young, and joked about animals always showing up to help. They also mentioned fixing an air conditioning clutch with a shim.
