regional planning commission

A loyalist parade in Northern Ireland has been cleared to proceed after a previously imposed ban was overturned. The decision allows marchers to take to the streets as originally planned, ending an uncertainty that had drawn attention to tensions over parading in the region. Loyalist parades are often contentious in Northern Ireland, where their routes and timing can spark disputes between communities and require oversight by the Parades Commission.

A regional planning commission is surveying the public about how they travel, asking residents to describe their daily transportation habits. Officials are gathering input to inform regional planning decisions, likely covering commuting, transit use, walking, cycling and driving patterns. It gives local residents a direct chance to shape how transportation in their area is planned and funded going forward.
