skunk

A skunk in downtown Vancouver that bit several people has tested positive for rabies, according to the Canadian Press. Health officials are warning anyone who may have had contact with the animal to seek medical advice promptly, as rabies is almost always fatal once symptoms appear. Residents are being urged to avoid approaching wildlife and report strange behaviour.

An educational episode of the children's science series Dr. Binocs, produced by Peekaboo Kidz, explains skunk defense mechanisms, including what happens if a skunk sprays a person and why skunks are considered among the stinkiest animals. The episode is drawing large audiences and engagement worldwide as parents and kids share wildlife learning content.
