stonechat

A Japanese birdwatcher reports that wintering waterfowl numbers remain low at a local wetland site, while a stonechat, normally a migrant, was still present. The blog post includes five photographs from the observation. Birders in Japan are following such reports closely as the winter season begins, comparing arrival counts of ducks and other waterbirds with previous years to track timing and abundance.
