A user from Dresden announced they deleted their Xing account, calling it their last remaining social media profile outside the Fediverse. They said they first requested a copy of their personal data from Xing and are curious what it contains. The post, shared with hashtags on data protection and leaving big tech platforms, has drawn supportive engagement from others in the decentralised social network community.
Why now: It reflects ongoing interest in data privacy and quitting mainstream social media platforms for the Fediverse.
