California agencies accused of hiding Bay-Delta science behind secrecy deals
Original: California agencies use confidentiality agreements to keep some Bay-Delta science secret | CA Politics 360
California state agencies are using confidentiality agreements to keep some scientific findings about the Bay-Delta ecosystem out of public view, according to a report circulating in California politics coverage. The Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta is central to the state's water supply battles, and critics question why publicly funded science is being shielded from scrutiny while officials weigh major water policy decisions affecting farms, cities and endangered fish.
Why now: Ongoing fights over California water policy and Delta management make secret, publicly funded science a flashpoint.
