Gen X Adults Are Drinking More Than Any Other Age Group, Study Finds
Original: Gen X Adults Are Drinking More Than Any Other Age Group, Surprising New Study Finds
A new study finds that Generation X adults — those now roughly in their late 40s to early 60s — are drinking more alcohol than any other age group. The finding is described as surprising, as attention has often focused on younger drinkers or student drinking, and it raises questions about midlife alcohol use and its health consequences.
Why now: The finding challenges the assumption that younger generations drink the most, prompting discussion about midlife drinking habits and health risks.
