Oktoberfest gives women free shorts to prevent upskirting
Original: oktoberfest
Organisers at Oktoberfest in Munich are handing out free shorts to women in an effort to prevent upskirting incidents at the festival. The measure targets voyeuristic photography and filming under skirts and dresses, which have long been a concern given traditional Bavarian dress worn by many attendees. The initiative has drawn wide attention and debate about safety and privacy at the event.
Why now: Oktoberfest is currently running, and the unusual anti-upskirting measure has sparked fresh debate about women's safety at the festival.
