German golfers joke that madness drives their game
Original: Wir sind nicht wahnsinnig, weil wir Golf spielen. Wir spielen Golf, weil wir wahnsinnig sind. # golf # golfen
A German-language quip about golf is circulating: "We are not crazy because we play golf. We play golf because we are crazy." The line plays on the sport's reputation for frustration and obsession, flipping the usual assumption that golf drives people mad and instead suggesting it attracts them in the first place. Golfers sharing it treat it as an affectionate self-deprecating joke about their devotion to the game.
Why now: Golfers are sharing a relatable joke about the obsessive, maddening nature of the sport.
