US mayor appeals to Canadian travellers to return
Original: U.S. mayor makes appeal to Canadian travellers: 'We like you guys, we miss you'
A United States mayor has publicly appealed to Canadian travellers, saying 'We like you guys, we miss you.' The message is aimed at encouraging Canadians, who have sharply cut back on cross-border trips, to resume visiting. The plea highlights how communities dependent on Canadian tourism are feeling the absence of those visitors and are actively courting them back.
Why now: Canadian travel to the US has dropped noticeably, hurting border and tourism towns that depend on it.
