Users discuss alternative operating systems for old Samsung Galaxy A5

A user is asking whether a Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017), model SM-A520F, can be given a new lease of life with an alternative operating system such as LineageOS, /e/OS, PostmarketOS or Ubuntu Touch. The question highlights a common problem: Android phones stop receiving updates long before the hardware fails, and finding reliable custom ROM support for older models can be difficult.

Why now: Extending the life of older phones with custom operating systems is a recurring topic as devices lose official software support.

· Bi_Na · 2
