Original: Biljana Plavsic, a Former Bosnian Serb Political Leader, Has Died

Biljana Plavsic, a former political leader of the Bosnian Serbs during the war in Bosnia in the 1990s, has died. She served as president of Republika Srpska and was later convicted by the UN war crimes tribunal in The Hague for persecution during the Bosnian war, one of the few senior political figures to admit guilt. Her death prompts reflection on the war and her legacy.
