Voting analogy urges Americans to pick 'D' for forward
Original: Voting is like driving: Select "D" to go forward Select "R" to go backward # USpol # vote # midterms
A widely shared political quip frames the US midterm elections as a choice of direction: 'Voting is like driving — select D to go forward, select R to go backward.' The line plays on car gear selectors to argue for Democratic candidates, using the party letters D and R. It is circulating among US politics discussions ahead of the midtons as part of get-out-the-vote messaging.
Why now: It is a catchy partisan slogan riding momentum from upcoming US midterm elections.
