Egypt's Sisi and Sudan's al-Burhan hold talks on conflict and diplomacy
Original: Egypt’s Sisi, Sudan’s al-Burhan discuss conflict, regional diplomacy
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and Sudanese army chief Abdel Fattah al-Burhan met to discuss Sudan's ongoing conflict and regional diplomatic efforts. The talks, reported by Sudan Tribune, point to Egypt's continued engagement in seeking a resolution to the war between Sudan's army and the Rapid Support Forces, which has displaced millions and destabilised the region.
Why now: Sudan's war remains a major regional crisis and Egypt is a key diplomatic player, making high-level talks between the two leaders newsworthy.
