Syria urges closer UNDOF coordination amid Israeli operations
Original: Syria urges closer UNDOF coordination amid continued Israeli military operations
Syria has called for closer coordination with the UN Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF) as Israeli military operations continue in the region. The appeal, reported by Arab News, underscores Damascus's concern over ongoing Israeli activity near the ceasefire lines monitored by the UN force, which has patrolled the Golan Heights area since 1974.
Why now: Ongoing Israeli military operations near the Golan Heights ceasefire lines are raising tensions and drawing Syria's appeal for UN involvement.
