Trump names spy chief as new AI czar
Original: Trump gives spy chief new title: AI czar
President Trump has given the director of national intelligence an additional title: AI czar, placing the country's top spy official in charge of artificial intelligence policy. The move links US intelligence leadership with the government's AI agenda, raising questions about how surveillance priorities and technology development will be balanced under a single role.
Why now: The unusual combination of intelligence and AI policy roles is generating debate about oversight and US tech strategy.
