Google Japan unveils conveyor-belt keyboard that moves keys to your fingers
Original: Google Japan shows off conveyor-belt keyboard with keys that move to fingers
Google Japan has revealed a new experimental version of its Gboard keyboard: a conveyor-belt design with four belts, each carrying 29 keys, that moves the keys to the user's fingers instead of requiring the hands to move across a traditional layout. The 3D-printable device is intended to make one-handed typing easier, and the unusual design is drawing attention and amusement among tech enthusiasts online.
Why now: Google Japan is known for playful April Fools-style hardware concepts, and a conveyor-belt keyboard is an eye-catching novelty.
