Zelenskyy Announces Ukraine's Own Starlink-Like Satellite System
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced that Ukraine plans to develop its own satellite internet system similar to SpaceX's Starlink. The project aims to strengthen Ukraine's communications independence amid the ongoing war with Russia, where satellite connectivity has proven vital for military and civilian use. The announcement is drawing attention to questions about Ukraine's technological capacity and its reliance on foreign providers.
Why now: Ongoing dependence on Starlink for wartime communications has made Ukraine's push for its own satellite system a topic of interest.
