Jacob Rees-Mogg accuses Tucker Carlson of 'verging on defending Hitler'
Original: Jacob Rees-Mogg accuses Tucker Carlson of ‘verging on defending Hitler’
British Conservative politician Jacob Rees-Mogg has publicly accused American commentator Tucker Carlson of coming close to defending Hitler. The charge, reported by the Guardian, marks an unusually sharp split between figures on the populist right, with Rees-Mogg arguing Carlson's rhetoric on historical and wartime issues crosses into excusing Nazi Germany. The clash has drawn attention on both sides of the Atlantic.
Why now: A prominent British Tory publicly breaking with a leading American right-wing commentator over Hitler remarks is a striking transatlantic rift on the right.
