Original: eleitor morre
Brazil recorded four cases of voters dying during the first round of municipal elections, according to VEJA. The deaths occurred at polling places across the country on voting day, drawing attention to the conditions faced by voters, many of them elderly, who waited in queues to cast their ballots. Electoral authorities have not released detailed circumstances for each case.
Why now: Reports of voters dying at polling stations during Brazil's first-round elections are raising concern about voter safety and polling conditions.
