Diesel tax discounts expire Monday in Italy
Original: accise gasolio
Discounts on diesel fuel in Italy are set to expire on Monday, prompting questions about what happens to pump prices next. Eni has moved to widen its discounts, extending them to more customers. The debate centres on whether excise duties on diesel will be reinstated in full and how drivers will be affected at the pump.
Why now: Fuel discounts expiring on Monday could raise diesel prices for Italian drivers, making excise duties a live topic.
