Original: US proposes trilateral talks with Russia, Ukraine by end of October, Zelensky says
The United States has proposed holding trilateral talks between Washington, Moscow and Kyiv by the end of October, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. The proposal signals renewed American diplomatic efforts to push toward a negotiated settlement in the war between Russia and Ukraine, though it remains unclear whether both sides will agree to the format or timetable.
Why now: A potential US-brokered peace format involving Russia and Ukraine would mark a significant shift in diplomacy over the war.
