Robert Reich backs Jack Smith for Attorney General
Original: RE: https:// masto.ai/@rbreich/117356524844 982089 Jack Smith is a national treasure who should be our next Attorney Gen
Former labor secretary Robert Reich is calling for special counsel Jack Smith to be named the next Attorney General, describing him as a national treasure. The endorsement, echoed by others on Mastodon, reflects admiration among liberals for Smith's prosecution of Donald Trump and his reputation for integrity. No indication has emerged that Smith is under consideration for the role.
Why now: Smith remains a prominent liberal hero after his prosecutions of Trump, and talk of him leading the Justice Department resonates amid ongoing US political debate.
