A user of the decentralized social web has made their first donation through the Liberapay platform, directing it to Akkoma, the open-source federated social media software. They say they chose to support the project because the software has brought them a lot of joy. The gesture highlights ongoing efforts to fund independent, community-run alternatives to commercial social platforms.
