Campaigners condemn exploitation of Tiwi Islands environment and Indigenous people

Original: Stop the vile white settler colonial plunder at the expense of the environment and Indigenous people of the Tiwi Islands

Activists are calling for an end to what they describe as settler colonial plunder on the Tiwi Islands, saying development there comes at the expense of the environment and the Islands' Indigenous custodians. The call links to Amnesty International Australia's profile of Antonia Burke, highlighting her advocacy for Tiwi Islander communities facing resource projects on their land.

Why now: Renewed attention on resource development and Indigenous land rights on the Tiwi Islands has prompted online solidarity campaigning.
