Original: Sanders backs Pope Leo’s call to protect human art from AI
US Senator Bernie Sanders has endorsed Pope Leo's appeal to shield human creativity and art from the spread of artificial intelligence. The alliance of a progressive American politician and the pontiff underscores growing political and religious concern that AI-generated content threatens artists' livelihoods and the value of human-made work.
Why now: Pope Leo's comments on AI's threat to human art have drawn high-profile political support, fuelling wider debate about regulating AI in creative fields.
