UK PM says Iran linked to suspected airbase terror plot
Original: UK PM says there are 'strong indications' Iran was involved in suspected airbase terror plot
The UK Prime Minister has said there are 'strong indications' that Iran was involved in a suspected terror plot targeting an airbase. The allegation, made in comments reported by Fox News, is drawing wide attention as it points directly at Tehran and could heighten already strained UK-Iran relations. Details about the airbase, the suspected plotters, and any arrests have not yet been made public.
Why now: A direct accusation by a Western leader against Iran over terrorism is a serious diplomatic development.
