EU awaits UK's move as ambassador says Brussels ready to engage
Original: Ball in UK’s court: EU ambassador says Brussels will be ‘ready to engage‘ after country decides what it wants
The EU's ambassador to the UK says Brussels will be 'ready to engage' once Britain decides what it wants from the relationship, putting the onus on London to define its priorities. The comments signal continued patience in Brussels but also frustration that the UK has not clearly set out its goals on trade and cooperation ahead of future talks.
Why now: Ongoing uncertainty over post-Brexit UK-EU relations keeps both sides' diplomatic positioning in the news.
