Ukraine's SBU says Belarus is hub for FSB spy networks in Europe
Original: Belarus, Russia, Ukraine SBU identifies Belarus as hub for FSB's clandestine networks into Europe
Ukraine's Security Service (SBU) has identified Belarus as a staging hub for Russian FSB clandestine networks operating into Europe. The claim casts Belarus not only as a Russian ally in the war against Ukraine but as a base for intelligence activity targeting the wider continent. It is likely to add to tensions between Minsk and European capitals and to calls for tighter counterintelligence cooperation among EU and NATO states.
Why now: The SBU's claim directly implicates Belarus in Russian espionage against Europe, a sensitive accusation amid the ongoing war.
