Feiglin calls for Gaza annexation and depopulation
Original: ‘I want to see Gaza empty’: Feiglin calls for annexation of Strip in next gov’t
Israeli far-right figure Moshe Feiglin has called for the annexation of the Gaza Strip by Israel's next government, saying 'I want to see Gaza empty.' His remarks advocate the removal of Gaza's Palestinian population and the stripping of the territory of any self-governance. The statement has drawn attention amid ongoing debate in Israel over Gaza's future governance and reconstruction following the war.
Why now: Controversial calls to empty and annex Gaza are fueling debate over the territory's future while the war and postwar planning dominate Israeli politics.
