Doom has been ported to SQL
Original: We ported the original Doom to SQL
A team has ported the original 1993 game Doom to run entirely in SQL, drawing attention from developers curious about how the database language can be stretched far beyond its intended use. The project continues a long tradition of running Doom on improbable platforms, and commenters are debating the technical tricks involved in making a fast-paced game work inside a query engine.
Why now: It is a striking technical stunt combining nostalgia for Doom with the internet's fondness for running it on absurd platforms.
