Woman throws red powder at Iceland's foreign minister in Israel protest

A woman threw red powder over Iceland's Foreign Minister in an apparent protest against the government's continued support of Israel. The incident, captured on video, is circulating widely online. Red powder is commonly used by pro-Palestinian demonstrators to symbolise bloodshed in Gaza. Iceland's centre-left coalition has faced criticism from activists over its stance on Israeli military actions.
Why now: Activist protests against politicians over the Gaza war continue to draw attention, and direct confrontations with ministers are rare in Iceland.
