U.S. pulls B-1 bombers from U.K. base tied to terror plot
Original: U.S. B-1 bombers removed from U.K. base at center of terror plot
The United States has withdrawn its B-1 bombers from a British air base that has become the focus of a terror plot investigation. The move takes some of the U.S. Air Force's most prominent strategic aircraft out of the U.K. while authorities examine the alleged plot connected to the base, raising questions about operations and security at the site.
Why now: The withdrawal of major U.S. bombers from a base linked to an active terror investigation is an unusual and security-sensitive development.
