Astronaut Christina Koch serves as honorary Eagles captain
Original: From Artemis to end zone: Jacksonville’s Christina Koch captains the Eagles
NASA astronaut Christina Koch, who grew up in Jacksonville, took on a captain's role for the Philadelphia Eagles, connecting her record-setting spaceflight career with a football game-day honour. Koch, known for the longest single spaceflight by a woman and roles in the Artemis moon programme, was recognised on the field, drawing attention in both space and sports circles.
Why now: The unusual crossover between a high-profile NASA astronaut and an NFL game is drawing attention from fans of both.
