Pacific youth demand climate action, reject 'sacrifice zone' label
Original: # Pacific ‘The Pacific is not a sacrifice zone’ | Youth call for climate action https://www. fijitimes.com.fj/the-pacifi
Young Pacific Islanders are pressing for stronger climate action under the banner 'The Pacific is not a sacrifice zone', arguing their region faces existential threats from rising seas and pollution despite contributing little to global emissions. The Fiji Times reports on youth voices demanding that world leaders treat the Pacific's future as a priority rather than an acceptable loss.
Why now: Pacific communities face escalating climate impacts such as sea-level rise, keeping regional youth advocacy in the spotlight.
