India has no real news channel, critics argue
Original: India needs a news channel. There is none.
A widely shared commentary in India argues that the country currently has no genuine news channel, reflecting frustration that mainstream television outlets function as opinion and propaganda platforms rather than news services. The blunt statement has drawn large engagement, with many readers echoing concerns about polarised anchors, shrinking editorial independence, and the decline of investigative journalism on Indian television.
Why now: It taps into ongoing public frustration with the perceived decline of journalistic standards in Indian broadcast media.
