New Resident Evil Movie Ditches Leon, Jill and Chris

Original: The New Resident Evil Movie Has No Leon, No Jill, and No Chris. It's Also the Best One Yet.

A new Resident Evil film has arrived without any of the franchise's core protagonists — no Leon Kennedy, no Jill Valentine, and no Chris Redfield. Despite the absence of the longtime heroes, the film is being praised as the best entry in the series so far, suggesting a fresh cast and story direction have paid off for the long-running horror property.

Why now: Fans are surprised that skipping the iconic main characters resulted in the best-reviewed Resident Evil film yet.
