France Télévisions reportedly nearly handed sensitive data to foreign-linked firm
Original: Je le verrai plutôt sous l’angle : FranceTV a failli fournir des données sensibles à une entreprise appartenant à un pay
A French commentator argues that France Télévisions came close to providing sensitive data to a company owned by a state known for its information warfare operations, suggesting national security may have become involved in the affair. The remark is framed as a counterpoint to how the story is otherwise being told, and has drawn attention on French social media.
Why now: Concerns over data security and foreign interference in French public institutions are currently a sensitive debate in France.
