Original: Afghan Taliban says problems with Pakistan can be resolved through diplomacy
The Afghan Taliban government says its problems with Pakistan can be resolved through diplomacy, according to a statement carried by Reuters. Relations between Kabul and Islamabad have been strained by security disputes and border tensions. The remarks signal that the Taliban administration is seeking dialogue rather than confrontation with its western neighbour.
Why now: Ongoing tensions between Afghanistan and Pakistan have made Kabul's call for diplomatic resolution newsworthy.
