Trump reaffirms 'great' relationship with Kim Jong Un
Original: Trump reaffirms ‘great’ relation with Kim Jong Un and nuclear-armed states
Donald Trump has again spoken warmly of his relationship with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, reaffirming that ties remain 'great' even as North Korea continues to expand its nuclear arsenal. The remarks, reported by NK News, drew attention because they acknowledge Kim alongside the world's other nuclear-armed states, raising questions about how the US president would approach Pyongyang's weapons programme in any new term.
Why now: Trump's friendly framing of a nuclear-armed adversary is unusual and signals potential shifts in US North Korea policy.
