Washington's Sudan diplomacy has backfired
Original: sudan
Al Jazeera reports that US diplomacy in Sudan has backfired, arguing that Washington's approach to the country's devastating civil war has failed to achieve its aims. The piece critiques American policy toward the conflict between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces, suggesting US mediation efforts have worsened rather than eased the crisis.
Why now: Ongoing fighting in Sudan and criticism of US mediation efforts are drawing fresh attention to American policy failures there.
