French post questions timing of wearing the yellow vest again
Original: And what if it wasn’t the right moment to slip on your yellow vest, huh? Instead of waiting for October 52791, 2047
A French-language post is circulating asking whether now is the right moment to put on a yellow vest, rather than waiting for a far-off date in 2047. The reference points to the yellow vest movement that began in France in 2018 over fuel taxes and living costs. The sarcastic phrasing suggests frustration with current conditions and reviving street protest, and it has drawn thousands of likes.
Why now: The yellow vest movement remains a potent symbol in France, and the post taps into current frustration or debate about whether protest conditions have returned.
