Chris Rock compares woke culture to Salem witch trials

Original: chris rock

Comedian Chris Rock drew attention after comparing 'woke' attitudes to the Old Testament and the Salem witch trials, saying there is 'no forgiveness' in what he called 'woke 1' culture. His remarks add to ongoing debate over cancel culture and whether public apologies or punishments leave room for redemption, a theme Rock has touched on before in his stand-up and interviews.

Why now: Rock's pointed comments on woke culture and cancel culture are fueling fresh debate in the US culture wars.
