"Life without art is stupid": defending self-expression
Original: “Life without art is stupid”: the importance of self expression
A student newspaper essay makes the blunt case that life without art is meaningless, arguing self-expression through art is essential rather than optional. The piece reflects a growing pushback against treating creative subjects as frivolous, insisting that making and experiencing art is a core part of being human and of understanding oneself and others.
Why now: Debates over the value of arts education and creative expression are ongoing, and a provocative quote-style headline draws attention to that argument
