The Sudanese Armed Forces say they shot down an FH-95 (CH-95) combat drone operated by the Rapid Support Forces northwest of Al-Khawi in West Kordofan. The downing, reported via open-source monitors, highlights the growing use of armed unmanned aircraft by both sides in Sudan's civil war, which has continued since April 2023.
Why now: The Sudan war remains active and drone strikes and shootdowns are a closely tracked indicator of RSF military capability.
